Following the cancellation of the "Retromobile-Vevey" by its founder, several members of the "Street Rebels" association from Geneva wanted to continue the adventure. A committee was founded in 2006, and started to look for the authorizations, some sponsorship, and so on. The Vevey Retro show wants to be convivial, festive; we wish to gather the owners and amateurs of cars, motor bikes, tractors, in fact all that has wheels; the mark and the model of vehicle does not matter. We also noticed that few demonstrations of this type exist in Switzerland, but that many owners of old vehicles are happy to be able to share their passion with the public, and to meet out of conventions specifically dedicated to their mark. As regards the choice of the town of Vevey, it is for us a place at the same time close to Geneva, Bern, the Valais, Italy and France; and the situation of the Market place, a rare one of this kind in Switzerland, vis-a-vis with the lake, is ideal to accomodate the participants and the public. Following the successes met at the time of the first edition, September 16 and 17 2006, the committee decided to renew Vevey Retro each year! We await you again in Vevey in September 2012 where we will celebrate the 150 years of Opel brand and the 50th anniversary of MG MGB! Vevey Retro committee.
